Jason Levin, Head Band Director, Lamar Consolidated High School, graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Music degree. He later completed his Masters Degree in Education and Education Administration at Lubbock Christian University.
A graduate of Katy High School, Jason happily moved back to Katy in 2006, along with his wife Stacey and their daughter Hayley. In April, 2009, they celebrated the birth of their second daughter, Addison Reiss Levin.
Jason is an experienced and dedicated musician
who is excellently qualified to broaden your student's knowledge of and interest in music.

Dr. Poysky completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at
Seattle Pacific University. Seeking to increase his knowledge and expand his
ability to help others, he attended the Graduate School of Psychology at Fuller
Theological Seminary – the first private school to earn accreditation by the
American Psychological Association. During his time there he earned a Masters
degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Christian Leadership, and completed
clinical training rotations at the University of Southern California, UCLA, and
a variety of other locations. Upon completion of his pre-doctoral internship at
London Health Sciences Centre, he graduated from Fuller in 2002 with a PhD in
Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Poysky moved to Houston to complete a 2-year post-doctoral
fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at Texas Children’s Hospital. Upon
completion of this specialized training in 2004, he accepted a position at Texas
Children’s Hospital as a clinical neuropsychologist, and joined faculty at
Baylor College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Child Psychology.
Dr. Poysky opened his private practice, Katy Child Psychology
Associates, in 2008 in order to offer the same quality care to patients in Katy
and surrounding areas. In his clinical work, Dr. Poysky strives to obtain a
broad perspective of each child’s strengths and weaknesses, rather than focusing
solely on “problem areas”. He believes that parents are a vitally important part
of the clinical and decision-making team, and that they are the ultimate experts
on their child. Although correct diagnosis is important, he works to ensure that
parents also have an understanding of what is causing their child’s
difficulties, and the implications that this has for intervention.
Dr. Poysky lives with his family in Katy and has two children one
of which has special needs. Having a child with special needs gives Dr. Poysky
an even greater understanding of the unique challenges of special needs families
as well as the issues and struggles that all parents face. He has a passion to
work with parents as a team to help children reach their best potential.
Dr. Poysky also has a strong commitment to the community, and
regularly participates in educational forums and presentations to parent groups
on a volunteer basis at the local, national, and international level. He is
internationally recognized as an expert on muscular dystrophy, and is chair of a
muscular dystrophy expert panel coordinated by the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (the CDC).

As a licensed professional counselor, I specialize in
short-term results using Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), combined with
other modalities. In counseling individuals, couples, groups, children,
adolescents, and families, I find that self-defeating attitudes, feelings, and
behaviors can be dramatically changed with the use of REBT’s action-oriented,
solution-oriented, cognitive-behavioral approach.
As an educator for 25 years, I taught English, Creative Writing, and
career-based classes to gifted, average, and at-risk students. Career counseling
has been a passion since 1977 when I began teaching at a New Orleans
career-based magnet high school. After returning to Houston, I worked as a
placement counselor for an employment agency. Returning to teaching, my interest
in careers continued, spurring me to pursue a counseling degree.
In private practice as a career counselor and therapist since 1995, I had
expected to concentrate chiefly on career counseling; however, clients’ personal
issues induced me to take advanced training to enhance my counseling
repertoire.
One facet of my practice is meeting the special needs of the gifted and
talented. Currently, I conduct a monthly support group for parents, which
focuses on how best to meet the challenges of developing a gifted child. Having
taught GT classes for nine years, I have individually counseled many GT
adolescents and adults.
As a coordinator for SMART Recovery® (Self-Management and Recovery Training),
I facilitate meetings to train individuals to overcome self-defeating and/or
addictive behaviors, such as substance abuse, anger management, poor
relationships, depression, anxiety, low frustration tolerance, and other all too
human problems. Based on this model, I set up a program for teens called STAR
(Stop Teen Addictions Rationally). Teen Forum is a group for average teens with
problems they want to resolve.
Always active, I enjoy traveling, photography, yoga, creative writing, film
and drama, music, and dancing, continuing education classes, bridge, walking,
hiking, canoeing, rafting, grandparenting, and anything fun or interesting. My
greatest treasures are my daughter and son, their spouses, and five
grandchildren.

When I opened in 1999 one of my main goals was to provide a Referral Program. This would be my way of giving back to the community. My clients love it and I am proud to say at least 95% of my business is now from referrals. Referrals are unlimited. This January I have received several referrals from a psychologist Dr Poysky, my husband a lawyer Stu Levin and one of my students Megan Redfield, Dr Tucker also sent me a referral from a friend of her. It is all about connecting with one another, and helping one another especially with today’s economy. Tutorials For Excellence has the opportunity to create a wonderful data base for all of you. Also, these businesses are on my website and monthly newsletter, if you need their assistance. Please honor us by adding Tutorials For Excellence to your website as well.
Thank You,
Carol Levin
