Advocacy. At
Tutorials for Excellence®, Mrs Levin attends meetings with parents
and helps them solve problems with the teachers and staff. She initiates
telephone consultations to work with the teachers to develop a different
approach in order to meet the individual needs of her students.
She attends Admit Review Dismissal (ARD) meetings with the parents
of her special needs students. She works with teachers, principals,
parents, and other specialized professionals to plan each new school
year and she ensures that all rules are being followed for the current
year.
Individual Instruction. We
at Tutorials for Excellence® feel very strongly that tutoring
“one-on-one”, the individual approach, is the most effective
method. The student receives the maximum benefit from the tutor’s
efforts. We do not favor group instruction, which is a very prevalent
model used today, because the tutor’s attention is shared
with the rest of the group and no individual student receives adequate
instruction.
Remedial Instruction. Very
special strategies and techniques are used for these students. “Hands
on” activities, such as visualization, kinetic programs and
games help the student understand the material in a much more effective
way. We take the time to discover the best way to communicate with
each student and we tailor our program to suit those needs.
Special Needs. We
provide individual assessment for each special needs student. Tutorials
for Excellence® then designs a program tailored to meet those
needs. Children with special needs are remarkable people capable
of achieving great success and we welcome the opportunity to teach
them. We address dyslexia, disgraphia, auditory processing memory
(short and long term), ADD & ADHD, organizational skills, test
anxiety, and low self-esteem.
Accelerated Performance.
College entrance requirements are extremely demanding in today’s
world. At Tutorials for Excellence® we provide an opportunity
for your student to improve his academic potential.
